RiceCookers, What a Time Saver
My father died when I was a toddler. My mother remarried a man from Hawaii. My new step father's life was so much different than our "german" lifestyle. It is very interesting now as look back on it, seeing how my mother blended a german cuisine with an asian-hawaiian cuisine. I must say she didn't give up much of the german food but we did learn about asian cooking. One thing my step father had was a rice cooker and we had never seen or used one before knowing him. As a child growing up with my step father we always had a rice cooker to use! My mom would look forward to visits from my step dad's merchant marine friend. He always brought us something from the orient and always brought my mom the newest design in a rice cooker. I never knew how to cook rice in a kettle and still don't! Rice cookers are so fabulous....rice and water in and vwella...perfect rice every time! Now the rice cooker models are amazing and can cook brown rices and steam and some even double as a crockpot!
I am very happy to be able to offer ONE of my readers the chance to WIN a rice cooker! If you never have used one you really need to try one. And if you have tried one....one rice cooker is never enough! Our sponsor “Electric Rice Cookers” is offering the following rice cooker as a prize:
