Season 5 ended with a banger between the gates of Hell opening up and fights with angels it was quite a departure from the earlier seasons but demonstrates how the show has evolved from season 1. Season 1 was interesting since it introduced a lot of urban legends and myths to start out the story line. I think season 4 will be my favorite with the Halloween episode and Lucifer breaking free. Of course adding Castiel added a "wow" factor as well. Having the introduction of this new angel added another dimension to the story line plus he saved Dean so that's always a plus!The brothers start in season 1 definitely evolved into something different in season 4. There is just something about watching these brothers and how they tangle with each demon they are faced with to include their own internal demons.
